Linux Cloud Administrator (Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh)

The Linux Cloud Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role involves deploying, configuring, and supporting cloud-based Linux servers and services, as well as collaborating with development and operations teams to enhance our cloud environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers in cloud environments (AWS mainly and eventually other cloud environments).
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage cloud storage solutions and networking configurations.
System Administration:
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and security configurations.
- Automate system administration tasks using scripts and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible and Terraform).
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Security and Compliance:
- Assist our Security Team with Implementing and enforcing security best practices to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
- Assist with regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Test and validate backup and recovery procedures.
- Ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with development and DevOps teams to support application deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and customers.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Join online calls to assist clients with configuration of their SSO or integrations within the IdeaScale Software.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and Linux administration.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance system performance, security, and scalability.

Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator in cloud environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible and Terraform).
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPN, firewalls).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
